So I thought I would start to share a little more  behind the scenes looks at some of the stuff that we have going on here at Turbonetics. First up is the new Duo-35 BOV.<span id="more-509"></span></p>

<p>The Duo-35 has some great design features to it including having multiple discharge options. Horizontally and vertically or both depending on how you want to mount it up inside your engine bay. We did this for two reasons. First it is getting more difficult to mount a BOV in a good location and still have it be able to vent back into the compressor inlet for recirculation. With the Duo-35 you have two directions to go and can rotate the valve universally 360 degrees on its mounting flange for easy install. Secondly, we found that people are running some ridiculous boost pressure and horsepower numbers on the street. Designed primarily as as high performance street application, we didn&#8217;t want to limit its applications so you can open up both 35mm discharge ports for maximum flow.</p>
<p>Designed to allow equal discharge control and flow at low and high boost, the pressurized chamber on the pull style valve allows fast response and great sound when the valve cracks open. Also available with GT-K style accessory flanges you can custom configure the valve to you liking.</p>

<p>BMW owners have always understood the link between form and function. Just like the factories the vehicles come from aftermarket parts need to live up to design and performance. The Turbonetics 335i BOV kit surpasses both standards. As today&#8217;s cars become more and more finely tuned to wring every last bit of performance and fuel economy, certain parts are called on more than others. The forced induction system on the 335i&#8217;s N54 engine platform is pushed to greater limits with small twin turbochargers come from the factory running higher than average boost levels. With higher boost comes added stress on the turbochargers rotating components. <p>Why are blow-off valves important? The turbocharger is moving large amounts of air while under boost, and this pressure is being delivered to the engine while the throttle is depressed. As soon as the throttle is lifted the butterfly closes in the throttle body preventing the pressurized air from entering the intake manifold. Because the engine is still moving exhaust gases and the inertia of the turbocharger is turning the turbine and compressor wheels, the air literally stacks up against the throttle blades. Pressure builds up within the system&#8217;s piping extremely quickly and once it reaches the compressor wheel the air actually flows back out of the compressor inlet and limits the compressor from rotating. Because of the air reversing direction the pressure drops allowing the wheel to spin and once again raise the pressure. This process of up and down pressure and air reversal is surge and the result is the fluttering/barking sound that comes from the turbo. Surge is very detrimental to the turbocharger, resulting in various stresses being placed on the unit. The compressor wheel has high loads placed on it as it tries to move against this wall of air, and as high pressure air finds its way behind the compressor wheel. Compressor surge can result in the compressor wheel spinning on the shaft, shaft breakage, bearings to have unnecessary wear and potentially create contact between the wheels and housings.</p>
<p>The compressor blow-off valve is placed after the intercooler and before the throttle body to help eliminate the pressurized air. Vacuum controlled, the BOV receives a signal from inside the intake manifold or just after the throttle body, pulling up on a diaphragm, causing a valve to open inside the unit. The pressurized air that is discharged is then routed back to the inlet of the turbocharger or vented to atmosphere protecting the compressor from surge and assisting in maintaining the speed at which the turbochargers wheels are turning improving throttle response and driveability.</p>

<p>Simi Valley, CA (PRWEB) August 27, 2009 &#8212; Now there is an easy solution to replacing the underachieving factory Ford 6.0L Powerstroke diesel with a complete bolt-on kit. The Turbonetics 6.0L turbocharger pedestal kit is available in a variety of configurations to allow consumers to custom choose the power levels they want to achieve.</p>
<p>The mounting kit comes with both a pedestal to mount the turbocharger securely to the engine and also an adaptor flange that bolts to the inlet of a standard T4 4-bolt turbine flange to fit perfectly to the exhaust inlet v-band connection. No modifications are needed to connect to the factory exhaust plumbing to the turbocharger. Made of high strength stainless steel and precision TIG welded, the pedestal allows direct connection to the turbochargers oil drain flange for strength and proper fluid flow. As shown in the attached images, all bolts, studs, gaskets and miscellaneous hardware is included as well as full installation instructions for an easy install.</p>

<p>The Turbonetics turbocharger upgrade means Ford 6.0L Powerstroke owners no longer need to sacrifice slow throttle response (ie. turbo lag) by bolting on makeshift parts and can eliminate the lazy stock units spool-up. Turbonetics Patented Ceramic Ball Bearing turbo provides both fast spool-up for quick acceleration and increased airflow to help keep EGTs down. Low exhaust gas temperatures (EGT&#8217;s) are extremely important when towing and when the Turbonetics turbo upgrade is combined with the Spearco Ford 6.0L (PN: 2-483) Intercooler upgrade you have a win-win combination of more power and increased efficiency. Spearco Intercoolers routinely drop intake temperatures by 150 degrees. That means an equal temperature drop in exhaust gas temps to tow longer, harder and heavier payloads. The increased airflow and cooling efficiency of the bolt-on Spearco intercooler assembly is highly recommended to be used at the time of turbocharger upgrade to properly cool the increased boost pressure and inlet temperatures.</p>
<p>The turbo also has an exhaust housing engineered and sized specifically for the 6.0L powerplant for smooth power delivery throughout the entire rpm range, particularly off-idle, where reduction of unburned fuel (black smoke) is so critical. Offered with a high nickel cast steel adaptor flange so that the upgraded ball bearing turbocharger drops in directly in place of the factory unit, this turbo mounts neatly and securely on the factory exhaust manifold in a short time.</p>
