Forgive me for not following along with big government logic on this one. What a cluster this entire program turned out to be. It is absolutely the case of doing something just for the sake of activity and that is the most dangerous kind in my opinion. The AAIA and SEMA summed it up pretty darn well in the statements that the two have made over and over. The two had been fighting the bill from the beginning and all the way through the House and Senate. Read the rest of this entry »

So what if I’m a Porsche guy now?
One of my favorite all time race cars in history is the Porsche 935. It really gave a “boost” to the turbo era that boomed in the 1970’s. The 935 (loosely based on a 911) was introduced in 1976 (the year I was born!), and shocked the world with it’s debut. The performance was staggering. Utilizing a flat 6 cylinder 3.0 mated with a single KKK turbocharger, the engine produced a mind blowing 560hp. Read the rest of this entry »
Poteet & Main Speed Demon streamliner goes 401.285 mph
Congratulations to Ron Main & George Poteet on becoming the world’s first turbocharged car to go over 400 miles per hour. Speed Demon goes 401.285! They say that if you have an ounce of motorsports in your blood then you have to get to the salt once in your life. I would like to think that I would qualify as a worthy representative and was looking forward to attending my first Bonneville speedweek this August. Read the rest of this entry »
Team Top Tuner
Congratulations to the Top Tuner Team for their Ultimate Best of Show win at HIN Boston!
When I first got a phone call last summer from a magazine guy trying to give me the “pitch” about some car that I just had to be involved with I was more than a little skeptical. You the type right, “Of this thing is gonna be awesome, it will be on the cover, blah, blah blah. You see, we get numerous sponsorship proposals every day. Some are not yet ready for corporate support, others have potential if the money doesn’t run out and some have true ROI. Rarely do I get no-brainers, sure fire winners for the company. In fact I can count the number of times that I have been lucky enough to get something special across my desk. Read the rest of this entry »
Medium Monster Hits X Games
A couple of weekends ago when both Staples Center and Home Depot Center were getting tons of love for the X Games, Will “Cheesecake” Roegge and myself had the honor of following Andrew Comrie Picard and his ACP Rally team with their Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution (8 or 9 I forget). As always, things were really last minute so it was a pain to get media passes just so we could shoot at the event. Fortunately, our people called some other people who knew people that could talk to people in order to swing us some credentials. Though that never really helps out when you try to sign in and pick it up. Read the rest of this entry »
Nelson Racing’s Crazy Sleeper Rx-7
Fast & Furious 4 Commentary & Rant
Not that we listen to these people or other haters like them or anything but it made me upset that in this unprecedented time in history for the automotive industry, with manufacturers of cars and car parts alike dying and falling to the wayside, people that we communicate with in person, on the phone or on-line would be hating on anything that is bringing exposure and feel good thoughts to cars and their culture. High performance, aftermarket parts using, make more horsepower, our livelihoods depends on types of cars. That is unacceptable! Read the rest of this entry »
