About a month ago I purchased a Turbonetic system (Part Number: 1516 for my ’05 Mustang GT. Over the past month I've been working on it consistently and taking my time. On a cold start up the engine has a rough idle and I receive error codes indicating a rich fuel mixture from both O2 sensors. (My A/F gauge shows a 10)

After the engine has warmed up, idle condition is much better (A/F gauge is around 14.7). I can clear the codes and they only show up on cold start-ups. I performed a test drive and everything seems to be running fine when the engine warmed up. I’ve rechecked the installation procedures several times and couldn’t locate the origin of the problem.

I've searched the forum and it looks like several other customers are experiencing the same issue.

I believe the revision tune is “version 5” on my SCT device, I’m not sure what that means. The sticker on the SCT tuner package has this on it “21898 V5”.


Does anyone have any suggestions or input on how I could go about correcting rough idle/rich A/F mixture on cold start ups?

I have an 06 Mustang that I installed the turbonetics kit on and i was having the same problems on cold startup. I am a technician at a dealership and I was having trouble getting the A/F mix correct. I finally took it to a local dyno shop and had them tune it. If you have not added another fuel pump yet I would advise it, because the kit pushes the factory pump to its limit.
