Thanks Steve for replying! My thought is that a turbo does not require motor oil because there is no abuse on the shaft. The turbo just spins, it doesn't have rods hitting a crank to need viscosity. It just requires the bearings to be lubed and it uses the oil for cooling. So the turbo is just like a transmission, in that it has rotating parts. So why motor oil over tranny fluid? Seems to me that tranny fluid would be better. Right or wrong? Any answers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Paul

transmission fluid usually has some sort of a "friction modifier"... and is not good for the bearing.
