Default Question about MAF housing???

I am wanting to switch from the T-netics draw through MAF setup that the kit comes with to a blow through setup. My question is does the OEM MAF have to be in the same size housing (2 3/4 roughly) to meter properly or can I use 2 1/2 IC piping as long as the MAF hot wire is in the center of the air flow??? Not really sure how critical this is... I am running an Afc neo for tuning the fuel if this makes a difference. Any help would be appreciated!!!

Yes, the diameter of the tube matters... If the tune was done on 2.75, then you need to stick with 2.75 or retune.

so i could move my MAF to a blow through setup as long as i keep it in the same size piping it is in now or would it still have to be retuned no matter what just to run off the blowthrough setup

BTW i am a 2005 Spec with the Tnetics kit and using the Unichip

Yes you would still need to re-tune the car. Basically with a draw through the Unichip/ECU is adding x amount of fuel based on non-pressurized air flow passing through the MAF sensor. If you go to a blow through set up the system needs to be retuned to account for the additional air flow that is no passing (pressurized) through the sensor. Additionally you'll have to be careful to not make the sensor go over voltage by showing to much air to it. If the sensor sees more air then should be possible given its NA design it will go over voltage and put the car into limp mode. The best way to do this is have whoever does the tune clamp the MAF voltage at a given place on the load curve.
