Hi,
Was looking to buy a “lightly” used Z06, but . . . little brother has a stock 82 that’s been under cover in his heated garage for about 10 years that has a bad engine. I know he could use some “extra” $$ right now, plus I love that style of Vette. I was thinking about putting a LS7, 630 hp engine in it from The Engine factory, and a TCI 6 speed auto, which should smoke a Z06. And yes, I’ve read all about the conversion, and I know about a bunch of other mods that I want/need to do along with it . . . Then I read about the new Carbon Vettes coming out with a supercharged 640 hp engine. All of a sudden, my super C3 ain’t so super any more . . .I’d like to bring it up to 850+ horse. I don’t want to call it a daily driver, but definitely want it to be street friendly. Here in Ohio, bike season would be about the same as Vette season, running at outside temps of between 50 & 85 degrees. I know the LS7 is NOT going to be cheap. I've also seen some punched out 350 stroker engines that are a LOT less expensive, probably half as much or even more, or a 427/550hp small block, which would leave me more $$ to put into my new toy in other areas, and would also be a MUCH easier project, basically bolt in. Do you have a turbo/twin turbo setup that would get me the hp I’m looking for out of a stroker engine, or am I going to need the LS7? The car would be used for cruising around on weekends if it’s not raining, the occasional lite it up at the light, kickin it down the freeway after 3 beeps . . . all at legal speeds of course 8^) . . . and the very occasional times at the strip.
Thanks,
Brian
Sorry, added this Sunday night . . . doing some more research . . . I do a LOT of that in general, my idea definitely isn't a new one. Was reading an article on superchevy.com about exactly what I'm taking about from 2001, and it sounds like they did just that and were using your turbos to do it.

The biggest issue I seemed to see was the heat that the turbo puts out, not only in general to the air around the engine, and probably to the temps in the car itself, but the increase in temps going through the engine. They also talked about a lot of thermal coatings on a slew of parts. I think I'm going to need to get some more information about engines for my project.
