Default Boosted Engine Life & Turbo Life

I have a 2004 Nissan 350Z with a Turbonetics stage 1 kit . The car currently has 42,000 miles . I don't know how long the turbo kit has been installed . I am scared to death at the thought of my motor blowing up . I am 43 years old and don't beat the car , but I do like to feel boost on occasion . How long can I expect my stock motor to last ? How many miles are people getting out of there Turbonetics turbos for regular driving (no racing) . I am starting to get scared because most people on the Z forums say that T-netics turbo's are junk , and that they have premature seal failure along with other issues . I love feeling the power of the car the way it is now , but if it's going to blow my motor , i will remove the kit , and put it back to stock . People please chime in and give me your honest thoughts .

as long as you maintain the turbo (proper oil & cool down time), it should last. And as far as hurting the engine.....it all depends on the tune, boost, knocks, heat, fuel, etc.......on stock engine internals I wouldn't go past 8psi

I agree with Eddie on this one. My 350Z had over 80,000 boosted miles on it before I traded it in on a new vehicle. Proper maintenance is the number one most important thing. Regular oil changes, spark plug changes, etc are mandatory with any car.
