Can I buy a GT-K Compressor Cover?
I have a T72 ceramic ball bearing .81 turbo with the gold back plate Can I buy a GT-K compressor cover and put it on my T72 back plate? I want the cool finish and sweet whistle of that porting.
Just curious.

Thats a VERY good question and I have no idea what the answer might be. I'll ask...

What about changing both the compressor housing and the compressor wheel? Thanks!

You could do that but for what its going to cost to do that you might as well just buy the whole GT-K unit...

Now that I think about it, I don't even know if the new compressors will work well without the new turbines.

Robert you done testing????
Were you able to find out if we could indeed order a GTK compressor cover?
Could we send in our turbos for a full upgrade or do you still think it'll be cheaper to buy a new GTK series turbo??
I currently have a T76MPS .96 a/r that was a custom "made" for Forced Inductions.com by turbonetics.
Thanks for any info you can provide,
J

LOL sorry for the test posts. That was during a server move. I'll get rid of them. As for the compressor housing I did ask and the answer was no. The compressor wheels on the GT-K are brand new (ie: have never existed before) and therefore no other cover will fit on them nor will the compressor housing from a GT-K fit on something else. If you sent back your turbo all they might be able to salvage is the bearing section as the compressor and turbine wheels and housings are 100% different anyways. I'd still say best bet is buying the new turbo.

Cool thanks for checking on that for us Robert.
My S/O is going to kill me for ordering another turbo LOL...I've had 3 turbo's in and out of my 'bird this year
I think i'll wait till tax refund time though....and give the ol wallet a rest and give this custom TC76MPS turbonetics a few runs before swapping it out.

Glad to help out any time I can. I hear you on the S/O thing.. I broke the news to mine last night that I want to pick up a project car early next year. I've always been a fan of the B13 Sentra SE-R and I'm thinking a little custom AWD action a built SR20VE and a rather large GT-K turbo. Of course the first question was, "How much now"
