Help me choose turbo for my application!
Hi guys! I'm new to both Turbonetics and this forum, so I hope you could help me out a little. I'll try to provide you with as much info as possible.
Car: Saab 900 1996 (FWD)
Engine volume: 2.3 Litres - 4cyl 16 Valve
HP target: 450+ hp
Max RPM: 7000 RPM
Application: Street/trackracer - "superwide" register. Need to spoolup fast as hell and keep pumping till the end
I was looking for some Turbonetics at eBay and I saw the GT-K series and I was like --> What do you think about a GT-K 450? As I said, I want a turbo that pushes me into the seat at maybe 2000 rpms and keeps pushing. Or am I unrealistic?
Maybe worth a notice:
Earlier I was thinking about a Garrett GT3071R .78 A/R with divided T3 exhaust housing.
Have a nice day!

A GT-K 500 or GT-K 550 should do the trick..

But won't a GT-K 450 spool up faster than GT-K 500? As I'm more looking for wide register rather than top effekt.
Other info:
I have an extractor manifold like this, this is my friends, mine hasn't been welded yet due I'm not sure about the right turbo yet
And:
3" exhaust from the turbo and backwards (stainless)
SPEC stage 3+ clutch set, able to handle 590 ftlbs (800 Nm) of constant torque.
Siemens Deka 60lb injectors (flow max 480hp on a turbocharged Saab)
Will run forged pistons and original rods (the original rods holds about 600 hp safe).
450+ hp means, around 450 hp, not like 500hp, maybe 450-475hp.
If I go over 480hp I need to change the injectors (again) and going up to about 500hp I need to change the fuel system (bigger fuelrail, hoses etc.)
Other things for the interested:
Purpose: Show/track car
Audio: Cadence only the top of the line gear Audiosystem weights about 160 lbs.
Saab 9-3 Viggen ground effects, some custom work like DTM spoiler.
Paint: Secret until April (I promise its very cool)
Brakes: 330mm front with 6-pot caliper (orange), rear 310mm with 4-pot caliper.
Maybe some of the dealers could give me a nice price on the turbo of my choise, hahah
Over and out, and have a nice day in the US!
Regards from Sweden,
Henrik

The GT-K 450 and GT-K 500 will spool up almost identically. The main difference being that the GT-K 500 power range is 450-550 and the GT-K 450s limit is 475. Both run the same turbine section though so spool up should be indentical. If it was me I would choose the one that has more power potential in case you decide to go for more later. Here's the matrix:

Hmm... I really need that compressor map, my tuner wants to check if it fits my application.
By the way, its a T3 turbine housing, right?
Regards,
Henrik

Sorry about that... I won't have them for a while I don't think. I don't know when they will be available... As for the turbine yes. It is a T3 Stage 3 F1 trim turbine section...
