Default HPC 64mm forged billet compressor wheel option launched

What do you get when you take aerospace grade aluminum, forge it into a predetermined shape, and then put it on a 5-axis CNC machine to carve out 12 blades that were optimized through finite element analysis? A compressor wheel that flows more air and delivers higher boost pressures than anything else available. That’s the HPC 64mm compressor wheel.

As the next development step in our continuous quest to take turbocharger design to the next level, the HPC is based on its legendary cast cousin, the HP wheel. A thinner hub and a thinner, more aggressive blade design results in a lighter wheel that offers more airflow and higher boost pressures at quicker spool-up. This can only be achieved by using a forged blank instead of bar stock material often used for billet compressor wheels. The forging process gives the wheel the extra strength where it is most needed: in the blade area.
Our HPC 64mm compressor wheel is available with all options, such as Ceramic Ball Bearing, water cooled housings, and a wide range of end housings. But best of all, for all orders that are placed to ship before the end of 2010, the price will be the same as for a cast wheel option:
