How, if at all possible, can a new fmic be made for a car so desperatley needing one?
Ill back up.
There is a group of enthusiasts out there that drive turbo charged PT Cruisers. These cars have the same motor and turbo as the SRT-4. Very strong motors capable of handling 500ish whp. In fact, many of the SRT parts also work with the PT Cruiser GT. Unfortunatley, the fmic is not one of them.
Alot of companies jumped on the PT as soon as they went turbo, but it was too soon and the go fast following had not caught on yet. Recently the market has picked back up as evidenced on performance PT sites like PTCrew.com. Granted the number of these things running around is nto as plentiful as the SRTs are, but many of the SRT-4 owners are growing out of thier neons and moving into the PT turbo.
The numbers are starting to pop up with quite a few 11sec daily driven PT Cruisers and upward traps of 115mph!!!! Many basic bolt on PTs are in the low 14s to mid 13s. What would really help is the addition of a fmic to the market. Currently, there are not any manufactuers of this product and a line of people waiting to buy.
Hopefully, this can be something that can be considered. I know a PT is a little unorthodox, but the potential of these cars is great!! Just needs a little more aftermarket help. Plenty of members are willing to contribute to aid in this seeing production.
Thanks
