Default oil drain flange gasket

any comment on using high temp gasket marker to replace factory oil drain gasket?
i damaged the original gasket. it sounds to me "a flexible, heat resistance gasket marker" would serve the purpose better.

I'm sure it might work but I wouldn't risk any silicone gasket material making its way into my oil pan personally. Your choice though.

If you were to use "any" silcone it would have to be a small film so that you dont plug the drain hole.

i went ahead and used high temp gasket marker on oil drain flange. so far so good.

no leaks or oil residue around the flange.
