Default Turbo/Manifold gasket failure

Has anyone else had any problems with the gasket between the Turbo and exhaust manifold i used the stainless one that came with the kit but it split and started leaking after 2 of those i went to a aluminum one that i made myself it split on on the two long sides and now leaks.

Another issue i seem to be having is the studs that mount the turbo to the manifold no matter what i put on them (Any color Loctite, teflon tape, i am about to the point of putting JB weld on there) they just keep coming out it does not even leak at the turbo/ down pipe flange even though there are only 3 bolts holding it on no leaks what so ever. It only seems to leak where there is gaskets.

Do you think it would be less prone to breaking on the long sides if i made the gasket Thicker and let it stick out from under the turbo/exhaust manifold flange that way it is kinda bracing itself up. Its gotten to the point to where i am basicly replacing a Turbo/Manifold gasket everytime i change the oil

BY the way it is a 2005 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V its the pre production kit that still had the aluminum piping No black chrome for me =-(

How are you tightening the studs into the manifold? If the turbine housing is rocking or moving its going to keep blowing out gaskets. That turbo needs to be completely secure on that manifold with the gasket in there. Any movement will open up the possiblity of the exhaust gas to find a way out and create a leak.

oh it was tight and i know it was not moving they just keep blowing out i have it down to about a 1 hour procedure to replace the gasket i even install new studs everytime last set was a set of ARP head studs that i had lying around . Lock washers seem to work for a while but it seems like the heat gets to them and then they just look like a flat washer with a split in them we have some metal locknuts at work that are safe for high temp i think i am gonna try some of those

Another possiblity would be deforming nuts. I'm not sure if they would work here but I use them on suspension strut mounts all the time. They essentially deform themselves as they are threaded onto a stud causing them to be pretty darn good and stuck n there without the use of a breaker bar.

Yes yamaha is bad about using those nuts except the put them on and torque them down then they deform them. If this time around it does not work I am gonna chuck the two mounting surfaces up in the mill and take off just enough to make it perfectly smooth and try with no gasket then I got a idea for another homemade gasket I found a gasket made out of copper that seemed alittle thicker on the long sides I might see if it will. Aide some kind of heat sink effect and slow down tv transfer of heat to the turnme hiding through tv heating of the manifold I will cnfabricate something I need a sheet of Titanium to make my gaskets I will let y'all know the results.
