Default oil inlet

Hello I just got my AN fittings for my turbo today. The oil line is a -4 but the fitting only as a very small hole in it. Is this right or is that for a B/B turbo? I have an old Turbonetics T3/T4 turbo.

That doesn't appear to be right. The -4 or -3 AN line should connect directly to your oil feed port ont he turbocharger. This plate is not needed. It looks like its intentionally restricting the oil on the feed which might be the case for Garrett turbos but not for Turbonetics turbos.

I need to tell you I also have a carbon seal in this turbo
I have been told by others that you need to restrict the oil for a carbon seal.
Is this right??

Thanks
Zack

As I said before Turbonetics does not recommend any oil restrictor on their bearings. Some cars with extremely high oil pressure have run them in the past but this was more because the oil pressure was so high in the car that it was beyond normal. For the most part you shouldn't need one with a Turbonetics turbo.
