You guys make a lot of good products and huge array of turbos, this was truely a hard decesion and I wanted it to spool good and make more power than the 60-1's without killing the driveablity for the sake of Hp numbers....

Awesome job Robert,
Bill
i'm just glad we were able to help out Bill! I can't wait to see how you like those new turbos. I want to see some videos of this thing when you are done.

Hey Robert,
Quick question: I just ordered 2 HP70 BB F1-68 OC .96 turbos from Greg at G-spec. He listed them on my invoice as [B](TN Turbo HP70 BB F1-68 OC .96), I'm hoping these are your HP series and not the TN series, is this how they list them and I'm I gettig the HP series or not sure?????
Let me know.
Thanks,
Bill

Bill,
The TN Series turbos use the HP compressors. In fact all Turbonetics turbos larger than a 60 series use an HP compressor. Think of it this way, the HP compressor wheel and F1 turbine wheel are the actual wheels and heart of the power production. The compressor covers are just the wrappers. In this case you would be getting an HP70 compressor wheel with an F1-68 turbine wheel in a TN series compressor cover (wrapper). the only different between the T70 (HP70 compressor wheel) from the regular T series line and the TN Series (HP70 compressor wheel) from the TN series line is the compressor housing. On the regular T series models the compressor housing is polished. On the TN series the housing is not polished. Internally the units are identical. Only the exterior finish is different. Hope that helps.

Hey robert,
Got my new twin T-70's, looks great and looking forward to seeing the new power these babies are going to show....
My question is on the returned 60-1's, why did they come back totally disassembled??? And no ceramic bearing either....I thought they would at least put them back as I sent them out, now what if I want to sell them to someone who has a P trim wheel I'm kinda screwed or at least had the option of re-assemebling them or something...please help me understand...
I realize I didn't want to rebuild but your guys new they had no P trim wheels to replace them with anyways??? I'm confuse and disappointed....
What could they have done to make these work and any idea on the rough cost as I would like to recup something from these with such little run time....any suggestions or help would be appreciated here...

Thanks,
Bill Dodge

Bill,
I'll talk to the sales manager in the morning. Normally if there aren't any parts to use to reassemble them they can't put them back together so they ship them back as is.

Robert,
Ok, but I guess I'm questioning why disassemble knowing they didn't have any P-trim wheels unless there was something else discontinue in the cassette, not sure there?. What and if can they do with what I have?
On the New T-70's I just got the backplate is just alum., not gold or red billet which is what I have seen for these turbos, did they change something???
Thanks Bill

Bill,
They typically take it all the way down when a rebuild request comes on to get an accurate picture of the total cost. I shot an email to the Sales Manager this morning to see if they can do anything about it. As for the backplates I'll check on that as well. In the past blue and gold were utilized to signify small or big shaft units. Now all units are big shaft and the only colored backplates are really the red ones for the GT-K or Hurricane units just as an identifier. I can check to see if they even have the Gold ones anymore.
