question regarding turbine housings
If I swap my turbine housing to a smaller a/r will the outside dimensions be the same, or will I have to modify the downpipe? I want to change from .48 to a .36, and I was wondering if there would be any modifications required other than physically swapping the housings? Will a housing swap require having the turbo balanced again? Sorry if these questions have obvious answers, i'm fairly new to turbos...

If the turbine wheel remains the same and there is a housing offered for that size wheel in that A/R then no nothing will chane externally.

Cool thanks. I checked the website, and they offer a t3 turbine housing that's .36 ar for stage II. That should be just what I need for faster spool instead of the .48 that's currently on the car. It starts making boost at about 4000 rpm now, and i'd like to see it a little sooner.
