Purchased a 106 mm big thumper from Kevin Scott and installed it on my 74 nova BBC. When I first recieved the turbo, We wanted more info on the unit so we contacted Turbonetics. Told the gentlemen that it did not have a serial nu. on the back of the turbo and he stated that it was not their turbo. The turbo housing has turbonetics engraved into it . I explained that it says on the rear of the air housing that it was a prototype with a number beside it. He swore up and down that it was not their turbo, that there was never a turbo that left their shop without a serial nu. on it. Now here is my problem, We had a oil problem and hurt the turbo so who do I have repair the unit. The Rude sales person on the other end of the phone or one of the rebuild companies out there. do not know which to do?

Agreed can I see a few pictures. I have to agree with the guys at Turbonetics that all units ship with a serial number. If it came off its possible when you got it it didn't have one. It's not unheard of.
