Default new turbo spooling up late

hi i have a 2003 infiniti g35 6mt with a full turbonetics turbo kit on it.the car had a oil cooled turbo which was blowing smoke on accelaration let off so i purchased a new water/oil cooled turbo to replace it.smoke problem is gone but the turbo seems to spool up late almost like it doesnt have turbo but you can notice that it is kicking in just nothing at all like before.also i seem to be getting oil spay out of blow off valve which goes on the polished part of the turbo. not sure if this is oil left over from old turbo or not .any help here would help ty

You might have a boost leak somewhere that is causing the issue. Have you tried checking the boost pressure at the compressor fitting?

Right on the compressor outlet there is a 1/8" NPR fitting with a boost reference line going to the wastegate. Tee in to that line and yu should 9 psi at full throttle. FYI DO NOT REMOVE that reference line or the wastegate won't open and your car will go to 20+ psi of boost. Just tee in a boost gauge to it
