Turbo Newb
1) I purchased a 2004 350Z with a Turbonetics kit already installed . I also just purchased a Street Scene chrome grille insert (mesh style) . I was wondering if the Spearco intercooler will get the proper air flow with the grille insert mounted ? 2) The car was dynoed at 365 Rwhp , can I SAFELY get more out of it with a different tune than just the Turbonetics reflash ? If so what do people recomend for a tuner ?

The grill is a tricky question. The best way to tell for sure would be to measure the inlet air temperature at the compressor inlet and then watch the temperature being reported by the MAF and see how disparate the values are. Obviously without the grill you will get more airflow but whether the grill will actually decrease performance would need to be measured to know for sure. The car can be tuned for more power of course. The risk is the engine. That engine will not take a whole lot more in stock form so you may be on the ragged edge. There are several tuning options out there. Everything from the HKS Fcon V Pro to the Turbo XS UTEC system or the Haltech plug and play. The one thing to keep in mind is longevity versus power. The closer you run to the edge of the engines limit the higher the change of premature engine failure.

Thank you very much Robert , I think I'll just leave it alone as far as tuning . One other question , It appears that the person that installed my Turbo , cut the Raptor BOV horn at the top (see pic) . They did this to clear the hood , but the hood still slightly hits the horn . Is something installed wrong , because i've seen pics of the exact same setup as mine , without the BOV horn cut .

That certainly should not have been necessary. If you loosen the two bolts holding the BOV to the flange (loosen only don't remove) you should be able to rotate the BOv outlet downward to better clear the hood.
