Default Turbonetics 04-06 Spec V kit Downpipe Question?

I recently bought a Turbonetics kit and need help identifying what type of downpipe I have. Is it first generation or the new and improved design? What I understand that the 1st downpipe gave many owners problems with leaks and breaks at flanges. Thanks in advance.

You have the latest revision of the downpipe.

So this new design is called the "slip-fit design"? So where the pipes slip into each other it's a tight fit, but doesn't need a gasket of some sort? My thinking is that it will leak? I just would like a little more explanation on the design and If I have all I need or something is missing? Thanks

*I bought the kit used and just want to know what I'm missing or not?

The slip fit design does not require any gasket material. You are correct the pipe slips into the other one to make it easier to rotate the flange to bolt on the downpipe and wastegate dump tube. When the metal heat's up it expands and the two pipes are essentially sealed so there is no leakage from that area

Thanks for the info. Still a long way from putting the turbo on, just picking up misc parts that I still need. First on the list is to re-build engine to handle boost meaning High Performance Internals. I will keep you all posted as soon as I start the build. Thanks again Robert for the help!

* Anything else I need to know about these kits?

Not really. The kit is fairly straightforward. If you are looking to make big power I would suggest finding a good Unichip tuner

I'm will not be using the Unichip for my build. I'm going with UpRev Tuning Management. I have a 2004 model and that's the best route for high HP output. Or What do u recommend?
