T04e question
Hello, I have a couple of questions.
I am looking at buying a Turbonetics turbo off of my friend. He says it's a T04E 60 trim and the turbine housing is internally gated and has a td05(mitsubishi) flange.
I did some research on the Turbonetics web site and don't see where you offer a mitsubishi-flanged turbine housing. My question is, did you guys offer this turbine housing in the past but don't anymore? Or does this not seem legit?
Also, if it is a legitiment Turbonetics turbocharger could you possibly give me the specs on it? What oil feed/drain fittings does it require? What oil is recommended for Turbonetic turbos? I haven't seen the turbo in person so I don't know the part number nor do i know the size of the turbine.
Any help would be much appreciated
Thanks,
Wake

Turbonetics has not made any Mitsubishi turbine housings for as long as I've been working on this site but he could have either had an existing Mitsu turbine housing machined out to fit the turbine wheel or he could have used a Precision Mitsu housing with a Turbonetics CHRA and compressor housing. Typically a -3AN oil feed is recommended with at least a -10 AN drain.

Oh, well that's kindof a dissapointment, I already bought it because it was a good deal, I think? When I get back home I'll check to see if it has the Turbonetics CHRA which I hope it does because I was really hoping it was a full-on Turbonetics turbo... But either way do you see this being an efficient turbo? I'm going for about 350 hp and reviewed the compressor map for the t04e 60 trim extensively BUT I am worried that this hybrid mod will affect the performance. I paid 300 for it & has nearly zero shaft play, do you think it was worth it? Thanks again.

Depending on the A/R it should be fine for 300

Oh and also it's internally gated and has an agp actuator..If the wastegate flapper valve is a decent size do you think it would be sufficient to run it internally gated? Or should I just block it off and run my Tial external?

300? Another dissapointment.. what if I buy one of your guys t3 turbine housings and turbine? Would this make this number raise or is that just it for the compressor? I'm really sorry for asking so many questions and bugging you Robert, but I really appreciate it.

I typod on the 300 I meant to say 350. As long as the A/R on the housing is big enough and the turbine wheel is larger than the F1-49 it should be good for up to 450
