Which turbine wheel for my turbo selection
I'm considering this turbo for my 1990 Porsche turbo.
It is a 2.5 liter low rpm engine and I'm aiming for 300-330 RWHP at 18psi.
I will be running 15-16psi on the street and I'm hoping this turbo should hold that all the way to redline at 6500.
I'm much more concerned with quick spool at 16psi than max power at 18psi.
Custom T3 Turbo with T4 B/E Compressor
- Compressor Wheel T04E 50 trim (22219) Billet
- Bearing Ceramic Ball Bearing
- Cooling Water Cooled 16MM
- Turbine Housing V Band Inlet / V Band Discharge
Which turbine wheel would you recommend?
I want a V-band inlet and outlet hot housing. I was thinking .63 a/r but can I go smaller for quicker spool without running into problems with backpressure at 18psi?
If the v-band housings only go down to .64a/r should I give up on the v-bands and go with a conventional 4 hole housing?

On a 2.5L engine an F1-57 or F1-62 would work. The F1-62 would give you some more head room for the peak power and allow you to run a slightly smaller A/R.

That seems large
The members on the Porsche forums I frequent recommended I go for the f1-54, so that's what I ordered. Could this be because it is such a low RPM engine, and because the turbo sits a long way away from the exhaust ports?
Should I cancel my order?

No an F1-54 will work fine. I tend to error on the side of a little bit larger because its easier to play with A/R on the turbine housing than it is to go up to a larger turbine wheel. You should be fine with a 54
