Water cooled turbo?
Would running a water cooled turbo on my tC kit make a big difference in running temp? I read on another forum that all turbonetics kits will run water cooled turbos from now on. Anyway us who have turbonetics kits can upgrade?

It should drop bearing temps by about 300-600 degrees. As for replacing your turbo I'll talk to Reggie tomorrow and see wht he says.

Or you could just hook up a universal oil cooler like I did. It dropped my temps by alot . Best $200 I spent in a long time.

I know but the turbo that came with our kit didn't come with that option. I'm giving him something he can work with now .

Was I thinking of doing a oil cooler also. I'm in this "need to be safe mode" Munch would you mind sending me a pic of you oil cooler setup? Plus wont this add to overall oil....meaning it would take more then 4 qts? Ive been trying to get info on these but your the first ove heard of to run a oil cooler.

Oh I understand. And I appreciate your input believe me. I need to find out what Reggie is planning to do about the current installed kits anyways as I'm sure he won't be the only one asking about this.

An oil cooler setup is very easy to do. I would use a Setrab core. I'll post a parts list of what the Z guys use for a custom setup. The only thing you should need different would be the oil filter sandwich adaptor. Just make sure its a thermostatically controlled one.
1. Setrab Oil Cooler, 25 row, 13.0"x7.5"x2.0", -10 AN fitting,
Setrab part number #50-625-7612.
2. Mocal 180*F Thermastic Sandwich adapter, 20mm filter (Nissan) with 1/2" NPT fittings.
Mocal Part number# SP1FT.
3. 90 degree bends for a hose Size 10. These are for the Mocal Sandwich adapter.
1/2" NPT: 829010ERL.. you need two of these.
4. -10AN, the swivel hose end that attach to the Setrab cooler are:
-10AN, 90Degree: 809110ERL
-10AN, 120Degree: 812010ERL
5. 6feet of the EARLS prolite nylon hose size 10, i dont have the part number for that...
As I said you'll need a different sandwich adaptor. Everything else should be fine for a Tc install. Heres a link to the 350Z threads about this.
