Default help me identify this turbonetics (updated pics inside)

hey all.. I just joined the turbonetics owners club. The fact that made me join this forum is the observation from reading the posts here. I really find the moderators and everyone else very helpful, which is highly appreciated.

Its been about a week now i have been searching about this used turbonetics unit i purchased from an acquaintane. The guy did not really know about the specs on the turbo, but since it was such a cheap buy i decided to take it. The unit itself is in great condition, but i cannot really figure out what it really is.

I took the compressor cover off to look for any part number on the compressor wheel so i could look over the catalogue but it has been shaved off. The only part number visible to me is the one on the backplate. Its a gold color backplate with the part number "20377"
the turbine is a tang divided style with 0.70A/R

Any input shall be highly appreciated, and sorry for the long post.

Thank you all.

Sorry been a little busy this weekend. Give me till tomorrow morning and I can have someone look up that serial number in the build system. There should be a serial number beginning with T- on the compressor backplate. Can you post that for me?

Robert is right we need the serial number on the backing plate either gold or blue. The serial number will tell us what the turbo is and what build date it has.

Yes affixed to that gold compressor section backplate there should be a sticker not a part number. The sticker should say Turbonetics and have a serial number that begins with a T. For instance it may say something like T-208795 or something like that. We need that number to look up the unit in the build computer. Thanks!

That looks like a much older unit. It might not even be in the build computer. The serial number should have been a sticker a fixed to the back of the compressor plate. Basically the opposite side of what you pictured. You shouldn't need to remove the compressor housing to look at the serial number. In the absense of a serial sticker can you post the dimensions of the inducer on the compressor wheel and exducer on the turbine wheel. I might be able to make a guesstimate of what it is using that...

hi robert... sorry for getting back so late. i had to buy a digital vernier to measure the wheels.

I took out the compressor wheel so i can attach pictures and take acutal measurements of the inducer and exducer both. Inducer is 2.298" and exducer is 3.00"

I have attached pictures of the compressor wheel, if they would help in identification. notice the fins are round from the edges and its not a usual type of wheel u get to see. probably someone could shed some light on the type of wheel it is.

As for the turbine. the exducer is 2.296"

There is no sticker or tag for ID on the backside of the backplate and also no signs of any sort of sticker or id remains incase it was there before n has been taken off. the only part numbers are on the front of the plate (pictured before) 20377 and L2203-6. Also a picture shows the compressor wheel part number shaved off (is that ok? does turbonetics do that on purpose?)

thanks ppl

Well based on the compressor wheel measurements the compressor wheel is a T04B Super H wheel. Turbine wheel appears to be a T4 O trim turbine. I hope that helps...
