Default 06 Spec V Install

Well I finally put my kit on. It went rather well however I do have some slight problems i need to address. The major thing is when getting to operating temp or slightly above the fan kicks on and is rather loud and spinning fast. Could this be an issue due to the unichip programing? Any ideas will help.

The fans should kick on and off as needed. Do you mean they are hitting something?

I guess I am not used to the excess heat and how frequent they are kicking on. But all is well so far. I have had it bog down and stall out twice (once in the heat of day, once in the cool part). Also I finally threw an engine code. But other than that I am loving it. I am very pleased with the kit.

That's great to hear. What code did you throw if you don't mind me asking. As for the heat that turbo is going to increase heat in the engine bay for sure as any turbo would. I highly recommend flushing in some Redline Water Wetter into the coolant system if you haven't already.

By removing the rubber seal in the front of the hood and on top of the hood cowl (bottom of the front windshield), I noticed that the engine bay temperature has dropped quite a bit.

Robert,

How much of the Redline Water Wetter to add into the coolant system? And do I just pour it into the rad or overflow container?

One bottle is more then enough for the amount of fluid in the coolant system. While you can theortically just pour it into the overflow tank as it should get sucked back into the radiator as needed I wouldn't. Drain some coolant out using the pet cock and refill with a bottle of Water Wetter and top it off with distilled water.

OK here is the deal. The car has been running as a daily driver. I have been taken it easy and gradually getting on the throttle. Here are a few issues now. I am starting to get a little rattle when spooling, not sure if the bearings are bad, or compressor/turbine fins are hitting the housing. And I have noticed that from about 4800 rpm to about 5300rpm the power band seems to level off then really kick in again to redline. I am not sure if it is the unichip or not. Any input will be great. thanks

Have you dyno'd the car and verified the AFR as well?
