I took it to a unichip tuner yesterday. They were really helpful and spent several hours looking into things. After digging in, they found that the unichip was not reading the proper signal from the crankshaft sensor.
This is why my car runs fine 0-3000 rpms, but horribly above that. It was referencing totally wrong spots in the maps.

So after we called unichip about 10 times, they suggested to check the codes. It was throwing a code for crank position sensor. This doesnt normally throw in my car before turbo. Unichip said this is a common problem when you have an 04 spec without an immobilization system and that you need to swap two wires on the unichip. Well, I HAVE an immobilzation system on my 04, so this makes little sense.

Please tell me turbonetics knows about this sort of issue and has a fix...

If any other customer had this problem, let me know how it was resolved.
I believe Turbonetics is looking into this information regarding the Immobilizer system. I have heard it brought up in the past but I don't have any further info on it. I'll see what I can dig up.

Thanks, it would really help if you check up on this. After a month and a half, I'm ready to get this car running well.

Ok, so we decided to do the wire swap fix over the weekend.

I cut the mesh covers on the unichip harness, opened up the connector, and swapped/spliced the proper wires (I had a schematic the shop gave me for the swap).

It was a shot in the dark, but to my surprise, it worked. The car was immediately fixed. It pulls super hard and burns rubber in gears 1-3. It still runs rich, but it functions well. I'll get the unichip tuned to get it a little leaned out.

So nobody knows why, but for some reason my unichip harness needed the cam and crank sensor wires swapped.

Who knew that through all this searching for a solution, all I needed to do was swap those wires. Turbonetics should take note of this issue and the symptoms, and suggest it if someone has these problems again.

I will forward this on to Customer Support management and let them know. Thanks for taking the initiative. I'm sorry its been taking so long to get back to you. With the fires here last week and SEMA this week I haven't been around the computer much.
