Default 350Z turbo problems

hey,

i have had the turbonetics single turbo kit installed in my '03 350Z for about two months now. In the past month when i hit full boost in the higher gears (4th, 5th, 6th) my engine "Shuts Down" and goes into a limp/safety mode and will not rev past 2500-3000 rpms. I need to shut off the car for 2-5 minutes and then it'll start to build boost again. Is this a boost cut/fuel cut safety issue or a re-flash issue??? PLEASE HELP...

It sounds like the MAF sensor is going over voltage. This is a classic example of that happening. How much boost are you hitting when this happens?

I dont currently have a boost gauge (But sure sounds like i might need one) so i dont know the boost. Why? might it be boost spiking? If its over voltage, how can this be fixed? is it the MAF connection?
Thanks

No it could be that the boost is spiking which is why I asked what your boost pressure is.

it is highly recommended to use at least a air/fuel and boost gauge. On my Z I have the oil temp, AEM Uego wideband and the boost gauge. I feel safer monitering my system in addition to having information for trouble shooting.

Agreed, it's amazing how much information you can get from just a few gauges... They really help troubleshooting!

Yes, boost spikes are not just about the car running bad, they can ultimately damage your engine... Get that boost gauge at the least, duct tape it to your steering wheel if you have to!

Yeah a boost gauge is critical to moniter boost spikes. You may be hitting way more boost than what is safe. The boost gauges are cheap to purchase also just so you know. Get with the team at TurboKits.Com and they can get you started with a good setup.
