Default Unichip tuning questions

Hey there.. I recently purchased the T'netics kit for my 2006 Scion TC. It will be installed in a couple of weeks, and I plan on taking it to Japtrix in West Palm Beach, FL to get a tune since they're a certified Unichip tuner. I'm planning on asking them these same questions - but I want to hear from T'netic's experience(s) first.

1.) Is the Unichip tuned based on MAP values (for Scion TC application)? And if so, is the MAP sensor built into the unit? If not, what variables are used when tuning the Unichip?

2.) How difficult was it for T'netics to tune the car? I understand it's difficult to have the "perfect tune" and yet be applicable for all areas of the US, but what were some of the difficulties if any?

3.) (This relates to Q#1) If the Unichip isn't tuned with MAP being considered, can there be multiple tunes on the Unichip so you can switch from A to B like the preprogrammed Unichips for NA applications?

Please try and answer all questions as best as possible.. I purchased this kit mainly because I was talked into the Unichip as being a very abled piggy-back lightyears away from the eManage and F/IC.

the Unichip uses the factory MAF to montior inlet temps and then correlates engine load and speed to determine the AFR. It is a very capable unit but it doesn't reference MAP in the current config. One of the hardest parts of tuning the Unichip was trying to adjust to the crappy 91 piss water we have in California while still getting good power out of the car. the Unichip is absolutely capable of multi map switching. i'm attaching an excerpt from Modified Mag's test of the Unichip while using it to tune a built motor Turbonetics powered 350Z

Thanks for the info, Robert.

I spoke with Jatrix in West Palm Beach, FL. They will be the ones tuning my setup. After speaking with Jack (one of their tuners), I feel very confident in what they can do. Hopefully I can get up there in a month or so - and you can bet I'll be posting results here.
