Yea, I'm not going to put anything on the alternator. I meant a turbo blanket that covers the hot side of the turbo. Do you know of any good ones, that will fit my turbo?
Turbonetics make several of them yes.

Just to update -

I took the serpentine belt off and took the alternator spacer out. I figured I would check the condition of the idler pulley too. Good thing I did, cause it had some side to side play. $46 later I got myself a new auto tensioner assembly from the dealer. Put everything back together, and the noise is gone.

Next was my high idle and stalling on restart issue. Now this has really been bothering me the last few weeks. I bought a set of 440cc injectors (this is what most people seem to be running up to 10psi), and I pulled the unichip out. The results:......my car now idles and restarts perfect. I am not going into boost for now, but I am just so glad the car is running like it should again. So I'm running the 440's with no tune, but staying out of boost, and the ecu is doing a damn good job of compensating for the bigger injectors. Lol. I'm still idling at 14.7.

As far as tuning goes, I have a local tuner that had recommended the uprev ROM tune. Basically he plugs into my obd port and can change target afr's in open/closed loop, idle speed, injector latency, ignition timing, and the list goes on. Once it's burned, that's it. No tune drift, no other wire mess/devices. Definitely looking forward to this

Robert - it definitely seems that the unichip is not compatible with the 06's. I've compared the wiring diagrams between the years and they are identical. So it must be something with the software inside the ecu itself. So just a FYI. I was looking on the unichip website, and didn't see the sentra listed. Are the unichips that's come with the sentra kits actually a 350z unichip? I'm prolly going to end up trying to sell it, and it would definitely widen the interest if it will work on the z car too. Any info on this would be super.
