ok. so i took some pictures of the assembly.
here is the fuel pump securing cover, that should have the isolator mount. this is exactly how it came apart.
here is the slosh container, that should have the nozzle. unless im looking in the wrong place....
again, this is exactly how it came apart.
and here is the fuel pump. you can see the part im pointing out fell out. looks like a contact or something. i was able to push it back in though.
please let me know what you think. thanks so much.

That contact might be connected to the connector pins for the wiring harness. I would be very sketchy about that pump. I'm surpirsed about the factory housing. I suppose if there is no isolator it shouldn't be a big deal. Does the new pump fit ok?

Yea. It fits just fine. I had the whole assembly together, but took it apart again for the pics. And when the fuel pump is slid into it's housing, it slides in right up to those contacts. So really they should not be able to come out, when it's in position. You think I should buy a new one?
Also, do you think a catch can is needed when I install this kit? And if so, which hose off the valve cover would I put it? The one going to the intake, or the pcv?
Thanks again!

You can try the existing pump but I would closely monitor AFR and fuel pressure the whole time and get the car on a dyno for a few high pass pulls. The safest thing to do is purchase a new fuel pump honestly. It's a $100 but how much is your engine worth?

Where can I purchase this pump? Treadstone? Is 31002 a good part number?

So I emailed walbro. I told them the situation and sent them pics, and of course they recommended I change the pump out also. I'm just kinda upset about this, because I could do the same thing to the next one. Walbro told me that even though I was able to push the contact back in it could pop out when the pump is put under pressure. But I need to cut away the whole plastic peice, so either way it could pop out still. I just don't get it and I'm not sure what to do now

I have to agree with Walbro on this one. Its not worth the risk for $100. You can get that piece filed down without the contact popping out. I know I've done it 4 times personally on Spec V kit installs. You just have to go real slow and be real careful. Honestly I would spend the $100 and get a new pump. I know it's not what you want to hear but I'll go back to the cost of the motor versus the cost of the pump.

Yea. You're right Robert. I ordered another pump. I'll go nice and slow with this one. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks again!
