04-05 spec v turbo kit
i know this kit is discontinued, but i can get my hands on a brand new one in the box. i just had a few questions. i saw something about the nvis immobolizer system. there is a recall from unichip. are the unichips the same between nvis and non-nvis? is it just a matter of different wiring? how does the unichip run for daily driving? are the mpg drastically lower? and finally, i read that the kit used to come with 440cc injectors and now comes with 630cc, is this something i should be concerned about?
thank you.

One other question -
is the fuel pump required to run 8 psi with the 630cc injectors. I would rather hold off on swapping the fuel pump for a little while. Thanks.

The Unichip is the same there is just some wiring that needs to switch. A search on this site should find what you need for the wiring. The kit has always come with Motron Deka 630cc injectors so there is no change there. The Unichip in my epxierience is fine for daily driving. The car is naturally going to run more rich with 630cc injectors but its not terrible if you stay out of boost for MPG.

the fuel pump is absolutely required. The new pump increases the factory fuel pressure which is needed to compensate for the boost pressure when under boost as the Spec V doesn't have a return style fuel system that can be easily adjusted via regulator.

Technically you could run both but I absolutely would not in any case. You would be using two different devices to tweak the same parameters. It could cause hell. The Unichip is programmable/tuneable so you just need to find a Unichip tuner in your area to make the changes you want. As for how to figure it out you need to know if your car came with the immobilizer or not.

That's the problem. How do I know if I have the immobilizer or not. I don't have a security light in my dash, does that mean I do not have nvis? Thanks for all your help

I don't know a good way to tell you that unless you have the original window sticker of the car or take the car apart or take it to the dealer and have them check with a Consult 2. the only other way I know of is the key. The non-immobilizer key is smaller then the immobilizer one is.

Ok Thanks. I'm kinda getting mixed signals here about this immobilizer. I've been reading threads for hours. I found the tsb from unichip that states you must rewire it if you don't have nvis. Then I read some threads about people that have nvis, had to do the rewire because the car wasn't running right. So I'm confused. Lol. I think I'll just bolt the kit on, plug the unichip in, and see how it runs. If it falls on it's face over 3k, I'll switch the wires. Lol.
