Turbo tC ?s
I have just purchased my first ever turbo kit and its for my tC . Im very excited but also very nervous about the installation. I will be installing the kit on Monday March 12th. The people I have talked to at T'Netics said that the kit was very easy to install and could be done in less than 15hrs.
Being 19 years old I am on a very limited budget and had to take out a loan for $5000(that is when you know you love cars) to purchase the kit along with HKS exhaust, Autometer Boost gauge, and HKS Type-1 TT. Therefore I have to install the kit with a few of my closest friends. None of us have ever installed a turbo kit before but we have done most of the basics like exhaust, intakes, pullies, cams, and lots of body work. I was told that with the instructions that the kit shoud be no problem for us. Is this true?
What are some of the complications that we might have?
What are some of the things we should watch out for?
Thank you for all of your help!!!

Be very careful which port you put the boost lines into for the wastegate and BOV. The BOV should have the signal line going into the UPPER port CLOSEST to the red Turbonetics logo at the top. The signal line for the WASTEGATE should be going to the BOTTOM port FURTHEST from the red Turbonetics logo at the top. Aside from that read the instructions VERY thoroughly. I would recommend you read the install guide over and over several times before you do the install.

Thank you so much. From what I have read on all the forums the seems to be the problem most people have is with the lines to the BOV and Wastegate. Honestly my biggest concern is wiring up the ECU...but with 3-4 people working on it we can figure it out im sure.
Do you think that we can finish this in one full day of work? We plan to start at 8:00 in the mornig or earlier.

While most people seem to get it done within a day I would HIGHLY suggest you set aside AT LEAST 2 8 hour days for this. If you finish early great. But at least you aren't stuck with a car you can't drive when you don't finish it. The ECu part is EXTREMELY easy. The Unichip PnP harness plugs right into the stock ECU connectors. The stock ECU connectors plug right into the Unichip PnP harness. Then there's only one more connection to the Unichip itself. VERY easy to do...

Awesome that is great. A huge sigh of relief. And yeah I want to get done in one day but if it is done right in 2 then It will take 2 days. Im not going to rush this by any means whatsoever. But we do plan to work all day and that means for us about 15-18hrs if need be.

Trust me when I tell you the 15 hour day thing doesn't work. After 10-12 hours you are going to drop productivity exponentially. Its a much better idea to do as much as you can in 10 hours and then get a good nights sleep and some grub and start again fresh in the morning to finish up whatever is left. I've pulled way too many all nighters to know this well..

From your professional experience what are some things that I may run into that the instructions may not say or emphasize? i.e. prime-ing the turbo and such. I just want to cover all of the bases and be sure im runnig a safe application. Thanks again

There really isn't much you might run into. I went over the instructions when they were first released and sent changes to Turbonetics which are included now. There's no need to prime this turbo as it is VSr tested and spun to 50,000+ rpms and measured on its balance and oil consumption so there should already be oil in the bearing...
