Swap GT-K housing for non-ported housing
Has anyone swapped the ported GT-K compressor housing for a non-ported housing? I want to pick up some top end power and I think this should widen the efficency of the compressor up top.
Does anyone know the part number of compressor housing (pref. non-polished) would fit on the GT-K 550? Thanks.

The GT-K 550 uses a GTK61 compressor which isn't available outside of the GT-K line of turbochargers so I don't believe there would be a valid compressor housing that would fit out of box. Going to a non-ported shroud isn't going to do much for this I don't think. The porting increases efficiency at the bottom end of the pressure curve but doesn't reduce compressor efficiency on the top end. If the motor is choking off at the top it could be that the turbine wheel is too small or the turbine housing A/R isn't big enough.

After a little more research, I came across this compressor number: 21735. I have been told it might fit. Can you confirm that?
I'm not choking up top, but I plan to max out the turbo shortly. I'm shooting for 600+ whp. I figured that the non-ported would help me get there as there is about a 5-10% loss in turbo performance with the porting.

That is the correct part number you will need.

Does it still have a 4" intake?

I believe so. I'd have to check with Reggie the Sale Manager who gave you that part number. It's not in any documents that I have.
