Want to change my turbo housing

yep thats one of the numbers I called and they dont have any more. They said alot of ppl was asking about that same part number. So it has been a high demand in the past month or so. So i guess i'm ass out lol.

Let's see if you can use the F1-57 housing instead.

Ok so bottom line it COULD work but it's not recommended. As I suspected before I even sent the email (but wanted to confirm) the housing will fit. In fact it will fit a little too good. The newer F1 style wheels use a taller tip height on the turbine blades. As a result the new housings are larger to accomodate the larger blade fins. The problem with running the F1 style housing on the older wheel is that it creates too much clearance. This essentially leads the unit to having too much space around the turbne and some of the exhaust gas is going to bypass the turbine wheel. In other words you won't get good performance from the turbocharger. Unfortunately you are correct that there are no housings left even at Turbonetics. The only options would to upgrade to the f1-57 turbine wheel with that correct housing for that wheel or stick with what you have.

how much is the turbine wheel off the F1-57? and is there any benifits of me uprading to a bigger wheel, performance wise.

Well the turbine wheel we need to be installed and then the entire unit would need to be balanced so its not quite as simple as just replacing the wheel. As for the benfits there are quite a few. The new F1 series wheels are a 10 blade wheel with a taller tip height than the older wheels. The taller tip heights means the new turbine wheel will improve boost threshold (how quickly the turbo spools up) and the 10 blade new design flows better meaning less backpressure.

I wouldn't say that necessarily no. It depends on what you are looking for. If you want a nice alternative for a reasonable price check out the Turbonetics TN series. It's Turbonetics lower cost series with all of the performance options at a cheaper price. Here's a link Turbonetics TN Series
