Super 60 VS Garrett 60 Trim
I currently have a hybrid Garrett 60 trim on my vehicle, standard T3 Garrett with .48 AR Turbine housing and stage 1 wheel off a Volvo, and a Garrett T3 60 trim wheel and compressor housing off a Nissan 280z and mated them together to make the turbo I have now. Its a 1.8L Miata, shorty log manifold, 14psi, etc etc.
My real question is what benefits am I really looking at with going with a Turbonetics Super 60 with .63 AR Turbine housing? Ive read the compressor maps on both, but I am really just undecided and unsure if the upgrade is worth it, or if there would be any upgrade to it at all? I have no problems out of my current 60 trim but I was curious as to whether the Super 60 was capable of making more power at the same PSI level and making it more efficiently?
Also, do all the Super 60s have polished housings? I am trying to make sure the turbo I am looking at is a legit Super 60..It has a blue compressor backing plate and a "T" cast into the compressor housing but no ID plate...
What relationship does the bigger inducer of the Super 60 but the same exducer as a 60 trim have on power/spool/ so forth?
Any help,
thanks in advance!

If you look closely at the map of the 60:
compared to the map for the Super 60:
you'll notice the peak flow on the compressor efficiency island is moved to the right by about 3 lb /min of air indicating the ability to make more power within the efficiency island. Also, all points below the peak efficient flow have a wider efficiency ring throughout the entire map. In other words the Super 60 is more efficient across the units entire flow profile and power production curve and is capable of more power than a typical 60 trim. Spool wise the additional size would likely have a negligible effect on boost threshold.

The Super 60 should flow to 350
