Default Mk3 supra bolt on turbo information.

G'day all,

Just after a little bit of info regarding the bolt on turbo options for the mk3,

in particular the:
CT26/T4, 60-1, Stage 3 (400hp)
and the
CT26, 60-1 Hi Fi, Stage 5 (500hp)

What turbine housing are these running, is it the stock ct26 housing and exhaust wheel?
Likewise compressor housing, I'm guessing it's a turbonetics 60-1 housing on both?
Do they run an after market thicker shaft?
What size compressor wheels are they running?
Does the Stage 3 have a quicker spool time than the stage 5?

Thanks for your time,
Ashlin.

They run a CT26 turbine housing but with Turbonetics T3 turbines. The smaller Stage 3 of course will have a faster spool up but will have a lower max power range. It does use a Turbonetics 60-1 compressor section and uses a big shaft set up.

thanks for the quick reply mate,

So if they both use the 60-1 compressor section the only difference between the stage 3 and stage 5 is the exhaust wheel? Are the power estimates of 400hp and 500hp, rear wheel figures?

Also do you have you any dyno sheets for these turbos?

I am after turbo response more than top end power, though i feel the 60-1 compressor will still be some what laggy.

I don't have dyno sheets of the turbos but I do have compressor maps of 60-1 unit here: http://www.turboneticsownersclub.com/viewtopic.php?t=9

Those numbers are general estimates of Wheel HP but they are highly subjective to the rest of the motor. A 60-1 compressor has a max flow of 57 lb/min or ROUGHLY 570 Crank HP depending on displacement, Ve, and several other factors. I have a 60-1 / Stage 5 unit on my 350Z and with both banks feeding the single unit with a .77 A/R turbine housing I get full boost between 3200-3500 RPMs.

Mmmk, are you using a ballbearing center? and what is full boost in your application?

Also, what is the diference between the 400hp stage 3 60-1 turbo and the 500hp stage 5 60-1 turbo?

thanks again buddy,
just trying to work out exactly which turbo i want before throwing the cash into it.

I'm running 9 PSI peak and yes I use a Cermaic Ball Bearing Turbo. The difference between the Stage 3 and Stage 5 is turbine section only. The Stage 5 is rated at 500 because the turbine has a higher flow potential then the Stage 3.
