DeltaGate HP Limitations
Is the wastegate's horsepower limitations solely based on the pressure such as 9psi = 400hp max or is it an SCFM restriction that lowers the rating? I have one I would like to put on my 4.7L V8 at 6 psi. I am shooting for 450hp, is this wastegate too small? Thank you.

Its based on the exhaust gas flow rate of the valve itself not the amount of pressure its being asked to hold. I would definitely say 450 is too much for the Deltagate yes. It's at the upper end but I wouldn't risk it. The Evolution might do better but I would personally run at least an RG-45 for that.

Ok, thanks for the reply. A wastegate is the main thing protecting the engine in one sense so I would prefer not to run the risk.

If wastegate is protecting the engine from one sense then the pressure will be high on wastegate. In that case what is th enext alternative.

Hey Robert wanna ask what is the maximum pressure of waste gate. And what's the capacity of it.

Technically it can hold 30+ PSI but it can only flow for about 350 HP before it will cause too much backpressure to be effective.
