Issues with RG45
I think there is a fault with my wastegate.
it has a 15psi spring in it, but never stays at 15psi. I boost leak test my system and have no leaks. With gate install with Profec Spec 2 boost controller set to "OFF" I hit 20psi, with boost controller "ON" all settings minimum I hit 20 psi, turn setting up to increase gain, I hit 20 psi.
So I said OK, maybe the BC is screwed. Disconnected BC, hooked gate direct. bottom port to turbo compressor, top port open. So then it hits 23-24psi. So I inspect the gate, and for whatever reason I put my hand under the dump tube while the car is idling and can feel air puffing out at idle. I really dont think thats ever suppose to happen until you reach near the boost based on the spring. So pretty much my gate is leaking air before I even build the correct boost, and it is very laggy too (GTK550 turbo ballbearing oil and water cooled on a EVO8, hits the 20psi at about 6-6.2krpm), which obviously is due to leaking off pressure before it is supposed to.
I am assuming there is an issue with the seat of the valve, and with the design of this gate, I would need to find a new flange seat part to weld on to my manifold again after I cut off the old one. Or it could be the valve itself not formed right. Not to mention if the valve wasnt seating good if it was formed right it may be defective now due to a defective seat.
Anyway, what are my options to try?

If you purchased the gate through an authorized dealer I would contact the tech support team at 805-581-0333. If it is an issue with the gate they should be able to help you out with it.

Wow, quick reply.
I bought gate (and turbo) a long time ago (prob 2 years), was for another car I had which I sold before I installed it, then I picked up the EVO and decided to put the turbo and gate on that. And my other issue is I am international (caribbean) so returning parts isnt exactly easy either. As far as I remember I bought them from turbochargers.com

Honestly I would give the support team a call and see what they can do for you. It's hard to say what the issue might be without taking a look at the valve itself.
