In the power-generation market segment, equipment failures and frequent service intervals can mean the difference between light or darkness to your customer, and profit or costly repairs to you. Turbonetics’ engineering team was presented with just such a challenge by one of the premier power-generation companies. Due to the harsh operating environment and demanding application, the customer was seeing reduced life on their turbochargers and worse yet, catastrophic failures in the field. Since many of these systems are used in very remote corners of the world, on-site repairs were proving to be very costly.

Turbonetcs’ highly experienced engineering team worked closely with the customer to understand the issues they were facing, and to find a solution to their problem. By replacing the original stock turbochargers with Turbonetics patented ceramic ball bearing design our customer was able to increase their service intervals from 3,000 hours to an impressive industry leading15,000 hours. In addition, the issue of premature turbocharger failure was eliminated entirely.The result was a unit that could reliably be used in remote locations without the fear of costly repairs and down time to the end users.

Mining

Overview:

Nearly everyone who works in the mining industry has heard the phase, “if it’s not grown, it’s mined.” Virtually everything we use in our everyday lives requires mining.
